Sagging screen panels — Screen that bulges or sags inward is a sign of failed spline, improper original installation, or mesh that has stretched from years of wind loading. We remove the old spline and screen and reinstall under proper tension.
Bent or corroded aluminum frame — Broward's humidity accelerates oxidation on aluminum frames, particularly at the base connectors and corner joints. Chalky white buildup (oxidation) is cosmetic at first but leads to structural weakness if left untreated. We repair or replace affected frame sections before installing new screen.
Broken screen door — Patio screen doors take constant daily use. Hinges fail, latches stop catching, and self-closing springs wear out. Most door hardware issues can be fixed in under an hour without replacing the full door frame.
Popped spline — The rubber spline cord that holds screen mesh in the frame channel can pop out during high winds, leaving panels loose and flapping. Re-seating spline is a quick fix when the channel and mesh are otherwise in good condition.
Standard 18×14 Fiberglass Mesh — The most common choice for South Florida patio enclosures. Good airflow, clear visibility, and solid insect protection. The default for most repairs and full rescreens.
No-See-Um Screen — Tighter weave designed to block tiny biting insects. Popular in western Broward communities near the Everglades where no-see-ums and gnats are a persistent problem during warm months.
Solar / Privacy Screen — Blocks UV and reduces heat inside the enclosure. Good choice for west-facing patios that get intense afternoon sun. Also provides a degree of visual privacy from neighboring properties.
Pet-Resistant Screen — Heavier gauge mesh designed to resist pet scratching and clawing. Worth the extra cost for homes with dogs or cats that have access to the patio enclosure.
